Last season our lanes were oiled immediately before we started warmups and we always had consistent bowling conditions. My starting average last season (my first) was 112. By season end my average was up to 144. I was the Most Improved Female bowler. It was very exciting.|
This season our bowling center has crammed in a bunch more leagues on Sunday and they no longer oil our lanes before we bowl. By the time we bowl the lanes have had many games bowled on them and the conditions are inconsistent. A lot of people on my league like the dry conditions. I'm not one of those. My current average is 159. Still in the top 25% of females in my league, but not as high as I know I'm capable. Yeah, I'm tough on myself. Steve and I have been bowling for 18 months now, and I know I can do better.
I bowl so much better on fresh oiled lanes than on dry lanes.
Yesterday was a tournament using ALL the lanes and afterward, they oiled them and the pair we were bowling on were untouched before we began practicing. It was awesome. At first I had to adjust a bit b/c my ball wasn't responding how I was accustomed, but I got that squared away pretty quickly.
I have a new personal best high scratch game! 234!
The highlighted scores are my scratch score, the total is the handicap total.
Its been a while since I've been really proud of my bowling results. It's not my highest series ever, but its close and I'm still really happy with how I did.
